Graphic Design Intern – Telecommute

Don Diva Magazine is a nationally distributed urban lifestyle publication. This is a great opportunity for the candidate who has an interest in hip hop culture. Our Graphic Design internship is for someone interested in developing her/his marketing career and portfolio. Your major focus will be developing web banners, images for social media posts and email blasts.

National Applicants Welcome – Telecommute Internship. This is an unpaid internship, however it will provide you with invaluable graphic design experience in the magazine and entertainment industries. Can be used towards college credits.

Major responsibilities include:

  • Design Social Media Posts
  • Design Web Banners and E-Mail Blast
  • Design images for website blog

Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills
  • Experience with social media and platforms
  • Willingness to learn through independent study

  • A basic portfolio featuring examples of design work. We do not require an extensive portfolio, but we still need an idea of your design potential.

This is a 6-month unpaid internship and requires a 15 hours/week commitment

Blogging/Social Media Intern

Do you want to interview your favorite Rapper, Reality Star or Entrepreneur? Or, become the next social media personality…

We are seeking a Social Media and Blogging Intern who wants to have a platform to write about topics they find important and build their personal brand. You will conduct interviews, write blogs as well as post to social media and interact with followers. Working directly with the Publisher and Digital Content Editor.

This is a great opportunity for those that want hands-on experience to learn how digital marketing can develop brand awareness through social media and content development. You will also develop your own brand within the publishing and music industry.

What you will gain:

  • Invaluable Music Industry (Hip-Hop) and publishing contacts
  • Your own custom built WordPress website to blog or sell products
  • Custom designed social media profiles for your Twitter/Facebook
  • Custom post designs that coordinate with your social media profile

We can teach you the skills needed to become the next Karen Civil, Necole Bitchie, Rob Markman, Bryan “B-Dot” Miller or social media personality. However, you have to do your part. You must be motivated, show initiative, creativity, and ability to work independently.

You will be trained to do the following:

  • Manage and develop a presence across social networks
  • Coordinate content for the blog, including writing original content and interacting with outside contributors
  • Blog correctly with Search Engine Optimization
  • Use HootSuite (social media platform)
  • Use WordPress for blogging
  • Use content curation tools
  • Identify opportunities for link sharing and content partnerships with other websites
  • Develop database of industry resources, sites and organizations, including media outlets, blogs, and more

  • Must be a good writer, team player and technologically savvy
  • Fast Learner

It is important to note that while this position is not paid. However, the benefits are limitless for the motivated candidate. This is a work-from-home position, with occasional field work (employer reimburses travel expenses).

Must be outgoing and be comfortable making cold calls and speaking with executives.

Responsibilities:

  • Passionate about urban culture, innovation, digital marketing & a startup culture
  • Strategically capitalize on our advertising leads database
  • Identify new prospective advertisers through online search, trade publication review, etc.
  • Create and maintain an ad lead database
