2016 has been one of the most memorable years ever.
Unfortunately much of it for less than positive reasons. The US presidential election cycle was as divisive as in history. The current president-elect pulled off what seemed like to many an improbable victory, in part highlighted by at the fact that he won the presidency in spite of losing the popular vote by over two million. Unfortunately, for many the change that is impending is not what any progressive thinker had in mind.
Death of famous and influential people also seemed to highlight (or lowlight) 2016. “The Greatest”, Muhammad Ali heads a list that included Prince, Alan Thicke, Carrie Fisher, Debbie Reynolds. George Michael, Florence Henderson, Leonard Cohen, Jose Fernandez, Bill “Radio Raheem” Nunn, Juan Gabriel, Gordie Howe, Pat Summitt, Buddy Ryan, Shimon Peres, Pearl Washington, Malik “Phife Dog” Taylor, Garry Shandling, Patty Duke, Frank Sinatra Jr., Glen Frey, Abe Vigoda, Maurice White and David Bowie.
