45-Count Indictment Handed Down In Broome County, NY Heroin Kingpin Case
A Broome County, NY, grand jury recently handed down a 45-count indictment in a case against an drug organization allegedly run by Devon Johnson. The crew allegedly shipped heroin from New York City to Broome County. According to WICZ, the following have been charged:

Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance, in the second degree, a Class A-II Felony
Enterprise Corruption, a Class B Felony
Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance, in the third degree, a Class B Felony (four counts)
Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, in the third degree, a Class B Felony (two counts)
Maurice Rollins, age 44:
Operating as a Major Trafficker, a Class A-I Felony
Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance, in the second degree, a Class A-II Felony
Enterprise Corruption, a Class B Felony
Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance, in the third degree, a Class B Felony (twenty counts)
Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, in the third degree, a Class B Felony (two counts)
Ferris Brown, age 32:
Operating as a Major Trafficker, a Class A-I Felony

A total of nine arrests have been made so far. If convicted, the defendants face 15 years to life in prison under New York’s kingpin law, which requires “$75,000 of activity or more within a 12-month period.” According to DA Steve Cornwell, the accused did so every two months.
