The hip-hop community was recently rocked when rising Florida star XXXTentacion was shot to death. Now, there has been an arrest for the slaying.
According to Rolling Stone, the Broward County Sheriff’s Department has apprehended 22-year-old Dedrick D. Williams. He has reportedly been booked on charges of first degree murder, as well as a probation violation for theft of a vehicle and driving without a valid license.
TMZ reports that XXXTentacion’s mother broke news that someone was in custody for her son’s murder during a vigil that was being held in South Florida last night.
XXXTentacion was shot Monday afternoon after leaving a motor sport dealership in Deerfield Beach, FL. Footage of his motionless body hit the Internet soon after the shooting. The rapper was taken to the hospital in critical condition and later succumb to the gunshot wounds.
According to reports, XXX was approached by two masked men that fateful day, who sped away from the scene in a dark SUV. It is not clear if a second suspect is being pursued, now that Williams is in custody.
