Bobby Shmurda is preparing for his upcoming trial, along with GS9 comrades, for weapons possessions. However, he is not going without a fight. Seeking comeuppance on the part of the NYPD, the “Hot Nigga” has filed a federal lawsuit against the department., for false arrest in a separate case.
The NY Daily News reports:
The “Shmoney Dance” singer, whose real name is Ackquille Pollard, claims he was hanging out at a friend’s crib on Rockaway Parkway in Brooklyn on June 3, 2014 when cops knocked on the door.
“When one of the occupants opened the door a slight bit to see who was there, Officer Douglas Corso and other police officers kicked in the door and illegally entered the residence without a search warrant,” according to the suit filed Friday in Brooklyn Federal Court.
The cops claimed Pollard tried to hide a handgun inside a couch.
Pollard, 21, claims that while the cops were allegedly ransacking the apartment, they taunted him by “chanting the lyrics to his chart-topping songs,” the suit states.
Shmurda claims that neither the gun, nor the drug paraphernalia seized were his. The gun charge was dismissed.
Derek Sells, Shmurda’s civil rights attorney, who is married to Mina Malik, executive director of the Civilian Complaint Review Board, made it clear that his client is not filing a complaint with the CCRB over an illegal search.
Since 2011, Douglas Corso, the only NYPD officer named in the suit, has been the defendant in five federal civil rights suits.
Also included in the Daily Times report, is a tidbit that Bobby Shmurda is free on $2 million bail. That is contrary to every other report out there. Do they know something we don’t?
