Beats jail, no?
A Los Angeles judge recently ordered another two months in rehab for Chris Brown, who did not test positive for drugs.
Brown is in legal limbo. He’s awaiting trial for an assault charge he picked up outside a District hotel in October, effectively violating his probation in the Rihanna assault case. In these situations the best prescription is often to hunker down in rehab as long as possible. Chris Brown will then enter the court to fight his charge with some hearty months of rehabilitation backing him. Judges seem to like that stuff.
Brown’s probation officer attests that he “continues to make great improvement” dealing with his various demons, a list which recently saw the addition of bipolar disorder and post-traumatic stress syndrome. For our money, rehab’s a good spot for the troubled singer. In a letter to the court, the facility’s director had this to say:
“Mr. Brown is able to use behavioral strategies to manage acting out on impulses. Mr. Brown is teaming relaxation exercises that will reduce consequent impulsive behaviors.”
Impulsive behavior got Chris Brown into this. Maybe a few free meals and some psych evaluation will get him out. We’re looking forward to his release because, whether or not you like the man, every single since “Fine China” has been fire.
Let’s just hope he can keep his hands to himself.
