Cook County Judge Killed Outside of His South Side Home
Judge’s usually have plenty of enemies in the areas they preside over, but rarely does someone actually touch the judge. One of those rare occurrences happened on the South Side of Chicago this morning (Monday, April 10) as Cook County Associate Judge Raymond Myles was shot several times along with a 52-year-old woman as they made their way to the gym. Myles was pronounced dead at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn. The woman was shot in the leg and was taken to the same hospital for treatment.
“I heard maybe six shots. The shots woke me up, and the screaming of the woman woke me up. She was screaming, ‘Don’t kill him, don’t kill him!'” said a neighbor, according to the Chicago Tribune. This neighbor was one of many 911 callers who reported the shooting. “I think he was alive when they carried him to the ambulance.”
There is no one in custody for the murder, yet.
