A few weeks back, March 25, marked the 13th year anniversary of The Diplomats’ seminal album, Diplomatic Immunity. But things weren’t necessarily so diplomatic. Dipset member, Jim Jones, posted on his Instagram his regards to the anniversary of the prominent collaborative as he commended the project. In the caption of the Instagram post he stated “tell #KillaCam to unblock me.” The informal beef came to light earlier this year, with the release of a teaser video for Mendeecees’ single, “We Get Busy” featuring Jadakiss. Cam’ron appeared to have cameos in the snippets that were released, and he posted the teasers on Instagram embracing Mendeecees.
After the release of the videos, Jimmy decided to start throwing subliminals by posting text-grams such as “I see yal cool wit being cool wit snitches must b th new wave u n****s been talking bout.” He captioned the post with the hashtag #TheDemiseOfTheReal. Immediately, social media went into an uproar trying to figure out who Jim was throwing shade at. In the midst of the assumption, JR Writer’s name was brought up by fans. JR confirmed with Don Diva that it was not him that Jimmy was referring to. Writer has no tension with his Dipset family. It will always be love between them, despite how distant they may seem.
Killa followed Jim Jones’ post about the blocking with a text-gram stating “Anybody that tell me to unblock Jim Jones. I’m blocking y’all nx.” Cam admitted to blocking his Dipset brother Jim, but also claimed he did not want to be bothered by it. Killa eventually decided to take down the post.
Disagreements are nothing new. This is not only true with Dipset, but with all great rap groups and families. It will always be “Dipset Forever.”
