Don Diva Financial: Moves To Make With Your Inheritance
Q. I recently inherited some money from my grandfather, what are some other options besides investing in the stock market?
A. Alternatives to the stock market can create solid gains if done right . Why would you need an alternate option? Many working Americans do not invest their money because their scared to lose or they don’t understand the market. Other options exist that can make your money work for you so that you can retire early.
A few Alternates to Stock investing
Real estate, investing in self, and guaranteed income retirement accounts are three good ways to grow your money. Each method comes with its own set of risk, so do your research or consult with a professional like myself.
Real Estate
Real estate places your money inside of an inflation protected instrument. A good Real estate acquisition can double your investment and provide monthly income. As I can attest, it also gives young people a chance to get lump sum gains; and its not affected by the volatility of stock markets.
No loss Retirement Accounts
Buying a guaranteed return savings and retirement account is great as a strategic short term investment. Depending on your goals it can also gain interest and act as life insurance policy. A couple of weeks ago the global stock market experienced record lows, while some of my clients lost nothing and a few even gained up to 3% on their retirement accounts.
Investment in Self
Another alternative to playing the market is making an investment in yourself, think about it, your important and you matter! Investing in your talents, skills or dreams can be risky but can lead to great personal and financial reward. At the age of 21 I made the decision to invest in myself. I started a real estate acquisition company and a community development non-profit, a few years later, I began a financial consulting firm and an insurance brokerage agency. Today, I am living my dream; I get to affect positive change by educating the community on the stuff they don’t teach in schools.
Many alternatives exist, but remember good information and research is the key to growing and protecting your money.
