First Year Teacher Makes Rap Song To Welcome Students Back To School
Rap seems to be good way to reach students who would otherwise be disengaged from lessons during school. One first-year Chicago teacher has embraced hip-hop as a means to welcome his new 4th grade students back to a new year of school. According to the description:
Instead of sending out the boring, old, “Welcome Back” newsletter, Mr. Reed, a first year teacher from Chicago, wrote a rap song for his 4th grade students, and recorded a music video to go along with it! The song and video emphasize the reality that hard work is a must, but that school and learning can certainly be fun!
