While there are millions of people all over who use Internet dating sites/apps to hook up with other folks, there are drawbacks. A case coming out of Central Florida illustrates one of these drawbacks.
Adam Hilarie, a 27-year-old father, went on a date with an 18-year-old woman (a separate issue for another day), named Hailey Bustos, who he met off the popular dating site, PlentyOfFish, or POF. They went bowling. Later on, according to the Orlando Sentinel, Bustos texted Hilarie, “I had a good time and would like to see you again.” The two made arrangements to meet up again the next night at Hilarie’s apartment.
When Bustos came through, she brought three men with her. They had allegedly paid Bustos $50 to butter Hilarie up, so they could get him for his TV, XBox and iPhone. According to reports, “Hilarie was begging for his life, he was not putting up any kind of fight, and was telling them that he had a 5-year-old daughter.” Regardless, Hilarie was fatally shot in the head by one of the robbers.
Bustos was arrested along with the three robbers, Andre Warner, 26, Gary Gray, 31, and Joshua Ellington, 26. They have been charged with conspiracy to commit robbery, robbery with a firearm and first-degree murder.
A man lost his life and a little girl lost her father, for a TV, an XBox and an iPhone. Watch yourself on these dating sites/apps.
