Floyd Tells Fif To Be Philanthropic To Ferguson Family
When 50 Cent called out boxing champ, Floyd Mayweather, Jr. to read Harry Potter (late changed to The Cat In The Hat), it was met with mixed reactions. He said he would forego doing the Ice Bucket Challenge and donate to a charity if Floyd read on camera. Some thought it was hilarious, feeling that the outspoken, brash Mayweather had it coming. Others feel that 50 went too far and shouldn’t make jokes out of such a sensitive matter. Regardless, Floyd was put on front street in a very awkward manner.
Never to be outdone, the undefeated fighter turned fire at his former friend and business partner. He thinks that Fif should just put his money where his mouth is and donate to charity out of the goodness of his heart instead of trying to humiliate him. He names the family of slain teen Michael Brown, the unarmed teen killed by police who is the impetus of the Ferguson protests.
In a recent interview with Floyd on All Hip Hop, he was asked about the Ferguson after talking about 50. He said, “If [50] really want[s] to donate money, how about you donate money to Michael Brown’s family? I shouldn’t stop you [from donating money to charitable organizations]. Our company has been donating hundreds of thousands of dollars to different organizations for years without looking for the media attention. The best thing for 50 Cent to do is to donate the $750k to Michael Brown’s family.”
The challenge is out there. Knowing how these guys are, this spat will probably endure.
