The Ice Bucket Challenge has been sweeping the nation by storm. It involves dumping an ice bucket of water on your head and donating money to ALS research. Everybody’s taken part in it from everyday folks to the rich and famous. However, before 20-year-old fugitive Jesean Morris, it hasn’t served of a means of telling on yourself.
According to Black Sports Online, Morris was a fugitive from the law after violating terms of his parole. Whilst “laying low,” Morris posted a video of himself participating in the Ice Bucket Challenge on Facebook. Someone who knew Morris’s situation (specifically that he was a wanted man) took it upon themselves to notify authorities of his exact whereabouts. Gang unit officers were sent to the house where he filmed himself near 33rd and U Streets on Friday afternoon. They peeped him climbing into the backseat of a Chrysler PT Cruiser, tailed him and then pulled him over.
He was arrested and was still in a giving mood when he was taken into custody. He gave spit to an officer’s face as well as a damaging kick to the partition window in the police cruiser. This was after giving officers a fake name and birth date. In all, he was taken in for the warrant as well as “suspicion of criminal impersonation, resisting arrest and assaulting an officer.”
It’s clear Morris is going to have to sit for a little bit. It is unknown whether or not Morris made any donation to the Ice Bucket Challenge.
