It is well-known that, though inmates in prisons throughout the country may have done their dirt, they don’t take too kindly to folks who molest children. Former Subway pitchman Jared Fogle, has been identified as the latter, having been convicted for taking advantage of child prostitutes. Since starting his 16-year sentence at Englewood FCI in Colorado, a low-security lockup, Fogle has gained 30 pounds from alleged stress-eating, in reaction to threats and taunts of fellow inmates, who call him “CHOMO (prison slang for “child molester).” However, one inmate followed through on the threats and turned up on Fogle, on the yard.
The assailant was 60-year-old Steven Nigg, who is serving time on gun charges. According to the NY Post, on January 29, Nigg let Fogle have it, leaving the former sandwich slinger “with a bloody nose, swollen face and scratches on his neck.” Nigg was reportedly fed up with child molesters being paraded into Englewood, and snapped on Fogle. Left with a small cut on his hand, Nigg was remanded to solitary confinement, as punishment for the prison justice he unleashed.
This isn’t the first time Fogle was assaulted. According to a recently released prisoner, another inmate slapped fire out of Fogle, calling him a “dirty child rapist.”
This may not be the last or the worst that happens to Fogle while locked up at Englewood. His earliest possible relase date is set for July 11, 2029.
