In a town hall meeting in a Kansas District, Republican State Representative Steve Alford cited a study from the 1930s that said because of the “character, makeup and genetics,” Black people are more likely to succumb to drug abuse. No mention of predominately Caucasian people expiring every day in Kansas and across the U.S. because of opioids.
