Today, “The Bandwagon” makes its way down south to New Orleans to see what’s up with aspiring emcee Kapo Bravado. He has taken time away from penning tunes for peers from established emcees and singers with deals to unsigned songsters to present his latest release, “We Outta Town.” This track is off of his upcoming EP titled, Gentilly Terrace, named in honor of the N’Awlins elementary school where Kapo was influenced to “pick up the pen.”
Kapo is on a quest to get a label to sign, not himself, but his group the Outta Town Gang, the group he formed with his brother. “We Outta Town” is a step in the right direction. The song is a laid back groove, perfect for kicking back and blazing a jay to on a lazy afternoon or cruising as you drive through the streets. Kapo’s jazz roots (his uncle Leo Nocentelli, legendary guitarist for New Orleans funk band The Meters) are evident with this beat selection. The walk-through video set in the desert is also up to par with industry standards, providing a quality complimentary visual to go with the track.
With this presentation, Kapo is standing heads and shoulders above your average mixtape rapper trying to get on. Given his height at 6’7″, you could probably say this anyway. Nevertheless, look out for more from Kapo and Outta Town Gang as he readies the release of Gentilly Terrace. Keep up with his moves by following him on Twitter at @OTG_Kapo.
