
Kendrick Lamar Dominates Grammy Nominations With 11
Without a doubt, the highest honor anyone in the music industry can receive is a Grammy. This year’s Grammy Awards with be the 58th annual installment of the ceremony. It will take place on February 15 at Staples Center in Los Angeles and will be broadcast on CBS. This morning, the nominations for the coveted golden gramophone trophies were announced.
Leading all nominees was Cali flame spitter Kendrick Lamar, who was nominated 11 times in nine categories. Other notables are The Weeknd with seven nominations and Drake with five. Kanye West and D’Angelo received three nods each. Pitchfork maps out the categories:
The nominees for Record of the Year are D’Angelo’s “Really Love”, Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars’ “Uptown Funk”, Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud”, Taylor Swift’s “Blank Space”, and the Weeknd’s “Can’t Feel My Face”.
The nominees for Song of the Year are Kendrick Lamar, Taylor Swift, Wiz Khalifa, Ed Sheeran, and Little Big Town.
The nominees for Album of the Year are Kendrick Lamar’s To Pimp a Butterfly, Taylor Swift’s1989, Alabama Shakes’ Sound & Color, Chris Stapleton’s Traveller, and the Weeknd’s Beauty Behind the Madness.
J. Cole, Dr. Dre, Drake, Kendrick, and Nicki Minaj are up for Best Rap Album.
Fetty Wap, Flying Lotus, Miguel, Foo Fighters, Death Cab for Cutie, the Internet, Jazmine Sullivan, and Jeremih are also up for Grammys.
