Kendrick Lamar has been on a roll, since releasing the critically acclaimed To Pimp A Butterfly last year. The Compton emcee followed up with five Grammy wins (for the best rap album, rap performance, rap song, rap/sung collaboration and music video) and a provocative performance at the ceremony that set the stage (and world) ablaze. In addition to his musical feats, he was awarded the key to the city of Compton, named a “generational icon” by the California State Senate and released his own signature sneaker with Reebok, themed to combat gang violence.
With all this momentum, K. Dot has sucker-punched the music world with the surprise release of his unexpected album, untitled unmastered. It was none other than NBA superstar Lebron James, of the Cleveland Cavaliers. After the momentous Grammy performance, Bron tweeted Top Dawg Entertainment CEO Anthony Triffith, pleading him to release the new music. After some consideration, the eight-track album was released last night on Spotify.
