For years, many have speculated what is in McDonald’s special sauce that comes on its Big Mac burgers. Many say that it is simply Thousand Island salad dressing, but that isn’t a satisfactory answer for those truly intrigued. McDonald’s isn’t releasing the recipe for the sauce, but they are releasing their special sauce on Ebay for die hards fiending to add it to their meals at home. However, if you want the sauce, it’ll cost you dearly.
Only 200 500 ml bottles of the McDonald’s special sauce is being produced and released to Ebay. The item description boasts that it will enhance all any food that you make at home:
Your mum’s amazing lasagne… better!
Your boyfriend’s gross lasagne… better!
Chicken Caesar Salad… better!
Hungarian Goulash… better!
But why stop there?
Cupcakes, ice cream, macaroni jewellery, fish oil capsules. Don’t like brussel sprouts? You will now!
The description also claims:
With 500ml to play with, you’ll have enough to impress your friends at dinner parties, cheat your way to cooking show fame, and get elected as Prime Minister!
The first bottle has been released and the current highest bid is $23,100 AUD (about $18,000 USD) out of 135 bidders with a little over six days left on the auction. Free shipping. Remember, that is the first of 200. All of the proceeds will go to Ronald McDonald House Charities.
Those who aren’t as philanthropic or simply don’t have racks to spend on a bottle of sauce will have their chance to drench their vittles with the special sauce, in Austalia at least. McDonald’s will be selling 600 25 ml tubs of the special sauce for $0.50 ($0.37 American) at select Mickey D’s across the nation.
