Miami Cop Busted For Child Porn
Yet another police officer finds himself in hot water. This time, it’s James Edwards III, a Miami-Dade sergeant. Edwards was already facing charges of lewd and lascivious conduct and exhibition for luring a 15-year-old boy to hang out with him and masturbating in front of him. Now, he is charged with 12 counts of possessing child porn.
Miami-Dade Det. Juan España says that child porn videos found on Edwards’s personal computer as part of a 69 video collection. They were found in his home when officers searched after he was arrested for the previous crime. España wrote, “The videos found depicted pornography involving young males naked and engaged in sexual acts, including oral and penile.”
Michael Catalano, the lawyer defending Edwards said of the videos, “Given everything I know about his case, whatever video is in question, I don’t think it depicts people under the age of 18. They’re probably 19.’’

According to España, the detective who arrested Edwards last summer, the case was bolstered by a visit to the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, where Dr. Walter Lambert analyzed the videos and concluded they met the criteria for child pornography.
Lambert deemed the videos depicting male-on-male sexual acts child porn because of the facts supporting the arrest warrant.
In the previous situation involving a teen, Edwards invited the kid to his home to do some landscaping work, then offered him “honey whisky,” weed and MDMA (“Molly). He then masturbated in front of the teen, then started touching and caressing him as well as asking him for oral sex. All of this made the teen uncomfortable and he left. Detectives monitored a phone call between Edwards and the teen confirming that it happened.
Edwards has been on house arrest since posting $85,500 bond. The child porn may get that revoked.
