NBA star Zach Randolph is looking forward to starting the season with a new team, the Sacramento Kings, after signing a 2-year contract for $24 million. However, the b-ball goon ran into a roadblock last night after being arrested with two pounds of weed, in a seemingly chaotic scene.
The LAPD was called to Nickerson Gardens in LA around 10PM last night, according to TMZ. The cops rolled up on a large group of blocking the roadway whilst smoking and bumping loud music. The cops spotted three people grabbing their waistbands and running away. TMZ reports:
Three people were detained — including Randolph, who was eventually arrested for possession of marijuana with intent to sell, A FELONY. We’re told the “intent to sell” part was due to the large amount of weed found.
Another man who was arrested was an ex-con in possession of a gun, law enforcement sources say.
Randolph is said to have been in possession of two pounds of weed in his backpack.
Afterwards, it is said that the crowd got “unruly,” forcing the cops to call for backup. Six squad cars got their tires slashed and windows busted out. When all was said and done, the police recovered two guns, a large amount of cash and they impounded two vehicles.
Z-Bo was held on $20,000 bail. He was all smiles as he was released this morning.
