Folks have always found ways to watch newly released movies in the comfort of their own home, be it bootleg movies or jailbreaking Amazon Fire Sticks. While those may be the common man’s means to circumvent expensive movie tickets, now the wealthy can do so, without breaking the law or having to watch shitty, in-theater recordings. For the hefty price of $35,000, the Prima Cinema box offers movie lovers the opportunity to watch new films at home, when they drop.
Before, only Hollywood insiders had the privilege of watching new movies away from the masses. The Prima Cinema (dubbed “The Netflix For Billionaires) has made it available to their wealthy peers, making movies available the day they’re released. The Prima Cinema is really for those with deep pockets, because to actually watch the film, one has to pay an extra $500 for each one; $600 for 3D features. Should you have a rich friend who can afford this, don’t expect to just be able to just get their password and use their Prima Cinema. Owners must register their fingerprints, then swipe a device for every rental. Furthermore, it is a requirement for Prima Cinema users to own a “professionally-installed home theater” in order to use it.
Kanye West might be $53 million in debt, but we know a way for him to easily recoup some of that. According to US Weekly, the rapper, along with his wife Kim Kardashian, are customers of the Prima Cinema service, dubbed the “Netflix for billionaires”. With subscriptions going for $35,000, poor Kanye should do the sensible thing and sell his (along with his furs, Yeezy Boosts and copy of Frank Ocean’s next album).
