Prosecutors Deciding Whether To Charge Birdman & Young Thug For Lil Wayne Tour Bus Shooting In 2015
On Friday, fans of Lil Wayne rejoiced as he finally released his Carter V album. The celebrated album was a focal point in the legal tensions between Wayne, Birdman and the storied Cash Money Records, and the album release seemed like the end of the spat. However, one event that occurred during Wayne and Birdman’s legal issues have come back to light. That event is the shooting of Tunechi’s tour bus in 2015. Jimmy “Peewee Roscoe” Winfrey was arrested and convicted of the act, but he was released last year after it was ruled that he was coerced into a confession. This week, new evidence was brought to light as the tour bus driver is filing a lawsuit which alleges that Birdman, Young Thug and Winfrey conspired to pull off the shooting. Phone records have been produced which show that Thugger called Winfrey several times in the minutes before the shooting and a recorded jailhouse call between Birdman and Winfrey has been released. Now, the DA is taking all of this into consideration in his decision on whether to charge Birdman and Young Thug or not. The decision is expected to come within the next few weeks.
