Since he burst onto the hip-hop scene, Snoop Dogg has unapologetically identified as a member of the Rollin’ 20s Crips of Long Beach, CA. Even after ascending to the level of pop culture icon, Snoop still flies the blue rag of the Crips set. However, a recent post from Facebook implies that The Doggfather wasn’t really about that life. A few days ago, Facebook user, Crischon Corde, who identifies as a member of the Long Beach Insane Crips, took to the social network to share the news that Snoop Dogg was kicked “off” the hood by the Rollin 20s.
According to Corde’s post, Snoop was rolling down Martin Luther King Avenue about “four or five cars deep.” He claims that the Rollin’ 20s rolled up on him and forcefully told him that he’s banned from the LBC. Why is he banned? According to Corde, the Rollin’ 20s don’t appreciate Snoop claiming their set on songs and not paying them for the privilege. It is implied that Snoop was never really an active member of the gang. Corde said (on camera), “A nigga’ll fuck around and get killed out here. These niggas out here are really gonna gun him down, though. This shit is real. The gangbanging shit is real. It ain’t Hollywood and all that shit he’s talking about on his songs. That nigga ain’t never lived this shit, though. These niggas out here really want their money, though. Nigga claiming they hood and claiming Rollin’ 20s Crip and wearing Steelers and all that? Them niggas want they motherfucking kickback, though. This shit ain’t free out here. Niggas is losing their lives out here.” He ended things warning Snoop to stay out of the hood.
