Nowadays, Bentleys and Rolls Royces aren’t the indicator that a celebrity has made it. Celebs today cops super cars, such as Bugattis, price marked at $1.5 million, to flaunt their fortunes. Italian luxury automobile standout, Lamborghini plans to throw its hat into the super car ring with its next release.
Representatives from Lamborghini unveiled the new whip behind locked doors at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance car show. Only a handful of wealthy guests were privy to the hologram presentation of the newest Lambo, serving as a teaser for its official unveiling at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show. Lamborghini didn’t come up off any information regarding the car (not even the name), Yahoo Autos revealed that the price tag for these cars will start at $1.2 million and there will only be 20 made.
The release of this limited edition Lambo is not the first proposed by Lamborghini in recent years. The company has also seen success with the Veneno coupe and roadster, as well as the Revention. The new Lambo will also be more exclusive than Ferrari LaFerrari, McLaren P1, and Porsche 918 hybrids.
According to Yahoo Autos:
Stephan Winkelmann, Lamborghini’s chief executive, said the strategy worked as both a branding exercise and a way for the company’s engineers to flex beyond the usual daily rigors by building street-legal machines.
“We want to showcase innovations…there are still a lot of ideas in our heads,” Winkelmann told Yahoo Autos. “We don’t want to do concept cars for the museum. We want to give customers the potential to enjoy the cars on the road.”
Lamborghini isn’t done here. The company is still prepping itself for its biggest project in years with the release of the Urus SUV in 2018.
