There’s a lot swirling in the news right now. You have all of the police killings that have occurred this summer and the Ferguson movement. You have the NFL‘s current fiascoes concerning the abuse charges filed against various players. There’s major beef with ISIS and it looks like we’re in for more with that. However, do not let the discovery of two slain teenage girls on the side of a Florida road go unnoticed.
Angelia Mangum, 19, and Tjhisha Ball, 18, of Tampa were found dead in Jacksonville around 2 AM on Thursday morning. The bodies were spotted by two people driving on the road. They called 9-1-1 to report the sighting. Law enforcement is unsure of the cause of death, but foul play is suspected.
According to News4Jax, Sgt. TJ Waters explained, “They were in an area where they would have been noticed, so I think it was fairly recently since they’d been left there. Right now we’re just processing, photographing, looking for any evidence that we can find, and we’re going to take it slow and very steady. We made contact with the medical examiner’s office, and they’ll come out and take the bodies and do autopsies and make determinations from there.”
Alexis Johnson who live nearby the scene said, “I walk my dogs at 12, 1 o’clock in the morning. I don’t think anything about it because we all look out for each other. But to find out something like that happened here, yes, that will change.”
Ebony reports that the two women were close friends who were working as exotic dancers in the Jacksonville area. Click the link for more detailed information on the murders of Angelia Mangum and Tjhisha Ball.
