An Inside Look At A Pimp’s Funeral
February 16, 2003, was a fateful night for Chicago pimp Andre “King Boo” Holden. He was rolling through The Chi with three of his friends in a gold Mercedes Benz. As the car stopped at a red light, four men hopped out of their car and pumped 21 bullets into the Benz. King Boo was the only one hit, and eventually died from wounds to the back and throat.
Filmmaker Stephen Hutchinson filmed King Boo’s funeral, as a short documentary for his coursework at NYU. Among the attendees was the legendary Bishop Don “Magic” Juan.
