Shyheim Was Supposed To Be In ‘Belly’ But Got Kicked Out For Beefing With Nas & Foxy Brown?

Love it or hate it, Hype Williams’ 1998 film Belly, starring Nas and DMX, is a hip-hop classic in these streets. If you consider yourself a connoisseur of rap culture, there’s no way you haven’t seen it. In this M. Reck interview, Jay Parris, who played Tommy Buns’ youngbul LaKid in the film, gives a little background information on the making of the film. Apparently, Wu-Tang affiliate Shyheim (who is currently four years into a 14-year sentence for second-degree manslaughter) was originally supposed to be in the movie but was removed from the cast after falling out with Nas and Foxy Brown, Esco’s compadre from The Firm. Parris also reveals that Ma$e was up for a role. Check out what he had to say above.
