White Michigan Man Convicted For Shooting At Black Teen Who Stopped To Ask For Directions

The verdict was reached for 52-year-old former Detroit firefighter Jeffrey Zeigler who was charged with intentionally firing a shotgun blast at a lost, Black teenager he allegedly thought was trying to break into his house.

The 14-year-old, who was not wounded, told investigators that he was walking through the unfamiliar Christian Hills subdivision after missing his morning school bus and becoming lost. He said he stopped at Zeigler’s home to ask for directions.
