What To Expect In Season 3 Of ‘Narcos’
After two successful seasons, Narcos will have a new subject. At the culmination of season 2, the previous subject, Pablo Escobar, was killed by the Colombian authorities in the famous rooftop scene in 1993. Who will season 3 focus on? The notorious enemy of Escobar’s Medellin Cartel, the Cali Cartel.
The main character this season will be Gilberto Orejuela (played by actor Damian Alcazar). According to Blasting News:
However, the executive producer of the show, Eric Newman stated that there is no such thing as replacing Pablo Escobar.
Cali cartel started after Pacho walked out from Pablo Escobar’s Medellin cartel in order to join Jose Santacruz Londono, Gilberto, and Miguel to form a new drug syndicate.
“Unlike Escobar, who had positioned himself as an outlaw, Cali was very much a part of the system,” Newman told the reporters. He also added that Escobar was a single-celled organism while Cali cartel is a complex and multi-celled organism.
It was also revealed that Gilberto won’t be the only villain this season. Three other Cali kingpins, Miguel Rodriguez, Pacho Herrera and a character named “Chepe,” will also wreak havoc and make the story “more complicated.”
There is no official release date for season 3, but it anticipated to drop in August or September of this year only on Netflix.
